I've got a massive soft spot for The Coral. I didn't realise how much I liked 'em until I clocked how many singles I had by 'em. '1000 Years' is their brand new single from their forthcoming album 'Butterfly House' and it's a big 60s-influenced psych slab of pop ready to launch itself into the part of your brain where songs stay until you die. I've only heard it once and it's well and truly wedged in there. I don't particularly like it that much either but I can't but help admire a band who can consistently write good songs which stick in your head. Its not an easy thing to do with the regularity that The Coral have done so full credit to them. Though the chorus 'waiting for a thousand years' is really starting to poo me out....
