I fucking love this song. It's like swimming in the most wonderous of oceans. They have a shoegazing rating of at least 6.5 on MetaCritic..probably. Its breathy vocals and sweet production really brings a tear to your eye. Its amazingly cathartic and enchanting in equal measure. I can't say enough good things about this single. What I will say though its one of the strongest singles I've heard in eons and you would be a crazy fool not to invite the School Of Seven Bells into your life. A potential classic.
First single from School Of Seven Bells’ eagerly anticipated second album ‘Disconnect From Desire’.
· School Of Seven Bells present the opening track from their
forthcoming album ‘Disconnect From Desire’.
· Instantly addictive melody backed by the Bells’ signature
atmospheric layering of ghostly electronics, and Alejandra and
Claudia Deheza’s bewitching layered harmonies. Beginning with a
screeching electronic chant, it marks out fresh terrain and conveys
one of the main messages of ‘Disconnect From Desire’ - the feeling
of waking up and shaking off routine, dealing with change: “when
the fire’s burnin’ from sky to ground / swing my weight around /
begin the windstorm”.
· B-sides include remix by New York-based noise rockers A
Place To Bury Strangers.
· Available on limited edition, heavyweight 7” vinyl (500
copies).
