Kero & Function - Function Kero EP

Function Kero EP by Kero & Function

Info:

Detroit Underground introduces the thirteenth installment to their formidable series.
Function Kero ep maintains the same complex connection to abstraction as it's antecedents.
Three remixes from the most surreptitious circles fracture and fuse musical styles from, Detroit techno, Dubstep, Minimal to popping Tech-House, all keeping with Det.Und's signature IDM/glitch sound.
Much like a puzzle piece or a clue Vol.13 brings you closer to the core of the 313.

About the Artists

SoundMurderer: Function Kero Soundmurderer Dubstep remix

Soundmurderer ( aka Todd Osborne - Ghostly International ) ran the first Drum and Bass record store in the Detroit area, the legendary Dubplate Pressure shop. He has released tracks on Warp, Tigerbeat6, and Rephlex.
Todd's Function Kero Soundmurderer Dubstep remix takes a shuffling IDM bassline and a UK Garage 2-step feel accompanied by hard West Coast hi-hats, snares, clap, and subtle resonance to make a signature track.
Aphex Twin played Soundmurderer's Function Kero Soundmurderer Dubstep remix during his set at the Primavera Sound 2009 Festival in Barcelona along many other shows as part of his spring 2010 tour.

Kero: Function Kero Material Object

Kero: Function Kero

With over 20 releases on some of electronic music’s most celebrated and innovative labels such as Bpitch, Ghostly International and Shitkatapult -- most recently Touchin' Bass and his own critically acclaimed Detroit Underground Records, as well as Kerohand Records with K-Hand., Kero (Sohail Azad) has established himself as a leader within the growing pack of producers successfully infiltrating contemporary art circles worldwide. Lately he has shared the stage with notables such as Speedy J, Ken Ishii and Funkstorung, opening up for new producers like Flying Lotus and bringing high-tech graphic visuals to venues across North America for the Butthole Surfers.

Function: Function Kero

One of Techno's true underground heroes, Function, Dave Sumner, has been DJing and making music for over 15 years. Function started to produce music in the mid-90s. He has put out music on Damon Wild's Sinewave and his own Infrastructure Imprint, as well as Sandwell District imprint.
Together with Karl O'Connor aka Regis he worked as Portion Reform, putting uncompromising music on Downwards and becoming the only non-Birmingham producer to release on the label.
A recent move brought the Sandwell District imprint to Berlin. The label has since featured releases by Regis/Kalon, Silent Servant, Female and Ian Richardson. Function's own bleep-techno killer 'Isolation' and 'Anticipation' are some of the best releases of the past year.

Matt Herdman: Function Kero Matt Herdman remix

Spawning from unassuming roots the “small-town” Canadian knew at any early age that his passion for electronic music was more than a hobby. Soon after
Definitive Records put out his first release “Wasted Intellect”.
In 2009 Matt was chosen single-handedly by Dubfire to open for the SCI+TEC label party at WMC (Winter Music Conference) 2009. With positive feedback from Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, John Aquaviva, and Oliver Giacomotto, Herdman is one of the rare artists that are cognizant of the need to push his sound further.

Corbin Davis: Function Kero Corbin-remix

Djing in the city of Detroit for years, he recently immerged with a mix that grabbed the attention of Detroit Underground.
In a very short time Davis, (aka Tetzzie), created a reputation deep in the core of Detroit’s real underground scene, for his thick bass synthesis and choppy polyrhythmic sprees that stay true to Techno’s 4/4 signature.
Corbin’ first single was remixed by Punisher ( aka Michelle Herman ) and released on Hej Records. That ep was printed twice and has sold out completely.
With more release dates to be announced it’s not likely that Davis will stay underground for much longer.
