Just got a bunch of stuff from upstart label Richie Records based out in Philadelphia (Phillyyyyy!), U.S.A. Totally loving this first offering from Clockcleaner (we got two 7"s from these guys but I'm only reviewing one). Super amateur, lo-fi indie rock full of energy, enthusiasm and youth appeal. A-side 'Frogrammer' is unruly garage rock at its very best and reminds me of the Jacuzzi Boys or the Homostupids. B-side 'Early Man' hints at their Load records past and comes of sounding all fucked up in an early Melvins kinda way. Clockcleaner are no longer a band but don't let that stop you from picking up these 7"s, they kick fucking ass.
Philly noise purveyors Clockcleaner follow up their debut full-length for Load Records with this single of dirty punk rock 'n' roll that is a bit more melodic than previous releases on the A-side with the B-side being more in the vein of Jesus Lizard and Pissed Jeans.
A. Frogrammer
B. Early Man
