Feel like I've been waiting forever for this one to drop. Julian Lynch is a true genius. His guitar playing is absolutely outstanding but he's got a true gift for arranging too as anyone who has heard his recent Olde English Spelling Bee LP 'Mare' will no doubt already know. These tracks originally formed part of a tape recorded back in 2008 entitled 'Born2Run' that has now been treated to a dusting off and a re-release. The rest of 'Born2Run' is included as a bonus CD so you'll be one of only a few folks who will have heard it in its complete form (I think Mr. Lynch originally produced 75 CD-R copies), you lucky buggers. I've not got time to listen to and review the bonus CD but the two tracks presented here are surely a good indication of what to expect. This is pretty lo-fi sounding, folk-inspired tracks played on guitar, keyboard and drums with Lynch's singing being the only addition to the mix. Both tracks help shed some light on what Lynch is all about and are both beautifully crafted numbers. Ace 7". Ace value.

Julian Lynch is from Ridgewood, New Jersey. The songs featured on this 7 single were originally created for the 2008 album, Born2Run. The recordings contain acoustic and electric guitar, a drum kit, a keyboard and Julians voice. Everything was recorded on a TASCAM Portastudio 424. While the initial taping began in Julians family basement (birthplace of the Alex Bleeker and The Freaks debut), the brunt of the work took place in an empty apartment in Madison, Wisconsin. In a new town with no furniture, Julian recorded the album.Includes CD-R of Born2Run in it s entirety; Pressed on sky blue virgin vinyl Born2Run was originally made available as a tape by Wild Animal Kingdom Records, in 2009. Julian also produced 75 copies of the album on CD-R. Since its minimal physical debut, Born2Run has been lovingly featured on countless MP3 Blogs such as Dayvanzombear, Forlorn-Valleys, Bee Boo Bee Bop, A Cassette Cathedral and Prisms of Fame. Julians music can now be found all across the world wide web, sweet messages often dangle beneath. Julians second LP, Mare, is coming out on Olde English Spelling Bee this summer.
