This chap is a French geezer. Yes, you can be a chap, a geezer & French all at the same time. I'm sure the esteemed Serge Gainsbourg had no problem flicking his cigarette ash into all three of those pigeon-holes. After collaborations with Astral Social Club under the Iibiis Rouge moniker have bolstered the High Wolf reputation, this deeply atmospheric & trippy record takes in all that sun-kissed tribalism, spangled new-agism, doomy acid-fried guitar effects and noise-tinged dubby echo-chamberism into a venerable kaleidoscopic stew of post-Emeralds cerebral bliss. His production techniques aren't as muffled & wilfully lo-fi as some, leaving this record sounding rather widescreen, majestical & stimulating. Proper lovely atmospherics & moods on this album, for fans of all this psychedelic tropical ambient gear like Sun Araw & the fantastic Forest Swords. Say "Gimme this record NOW!!"
Debut full-length by this French cloud jumper after a number of tapes and CDRs. hypnotic/melodic palm tree tronics sculpted into jangly rhythmic pop fogs. mastered by pete swanson.
