New Weirdos by Prize Pets

One of the LOUDEST singles I ever did lay my city-eyes on. This little vinyl violator has been mixed/mastered into the red.... And then some. Its a snarling pig fucker of a tune though. It's such a thick, disarming concotion. "New Weirdos" sounds like The Birthday Party challenging The Butthole Surfers to a mud wrestle on Neptune... Except instead of mud they are wrestling in an enchanting mixture of Angel Delight and sick. Its a sweet offering from the Sex Is Disgusting kitchen. I'm still reeling from the assured sleaze rock power of this behemoth..

Prize Pets are Nottingham-dwelling freaks of the highest caliber and we are ecstatic to present their debut 7" as
our fifth release. 'New Weirdos' is a thrilling and innovative slice of creepy post-punk designed to both beguile and make you sweat. All three tracks are resplendent with mangled guitar riffs, fuzz-driven bass, corrosive drums and a yelp that has led to vocalist George Haberis being compared to everyone from The Fall's Mark E. Smith to Flipper's Bruce Loose. Prize Pets inhabit an odd world, one with a soundtrack that nestles somewhere between the
jerky yet controlled rhythms of Devo, the unsettling punk rock of Flipper and the interlocking, winding riffs of their friends' Lovvers' earlier material. We can't wait to own this future classic 7" & urge everyone in earshot to check this band out. The world needs more lunatics like Prize Pets. Amen. Ltd x250.
