Kele - Tenderoni

Tenderoni by Kele

3...according to our on Fri 11 Jun, 2010.

Not content with putting increasingly awful records out with his once promising but now despairing band Bloc Party. Kele now escapes into a solo career. It seems to take the 'dance' elements from Bloc Party's later work and veer into a full on indie rave-athon that shamelessly steals the bassline to Wiley's 'Wearing my Rolex'. Its not great and it doesn't really go anywhere but take it out of the Norman Records environment and onto Radio 1 or a dance tent at one of this summers festivals and it will probably go down pretty well. The chorus is distinctive enough to keep it going. The B side is what I imagine Adam Ant's forthcoming 'Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar in Marrying The Gunner's Daughter' album might sound like. i.e crazy and confused.

Kele is currently taking time out from his commitments to Bloc Party to explore new territory as a solo artist. The first single to be taken from Kele’s imminent debut album The Boxer (released June 21st) is the dirty club joint Tenderoni. A track peppered with dirty bass squawls and a ridiculously propulsive beat, it’s a slice of intensely euphoric electro joy. The single has already been ROTW on 4 different shows on Radio 1 and fantastic support at ILR too. A superb remix package comes courtesy of Larry Tee, Dam Mantle, Kris Menace, Jokers Of The Scene and a dub version by XXXChange. The 7" is transparent vinyl with B side being a new track. 12" has the Larry Tee + Beckwith remix plus the XXX Change Dub remix. The CD has 3 tracks ( the 2 tracks plus Larry Tee+ Beckwith mix)
