This is gradually weaving its way into my head in a lovely subtle fashion. The guitar melody and the repetition of opener 'No Turning Back' are seducing me, eventually when the slightly mumbled, disembodied vocal comes in I'm hooked. This is like a ambient / drone / folk hybrid, all super dreamy and subdued. I think the label's comparisons to Richard Youngs and Grouper are a fair reference point although I think this is really original. This a wonderful honest feel and distinctive fragile beauty. Lovely stuff.
Circle bros has shifted from a pure
ambient-esque project to a more song-
oriented unit. You'll still hear echoes from
the likes of Windy and Carl, but
incorporating the experimental pop- and
folkstructures of eg Richard Youngs,
Grouper or Castanets.
