No I don't know why. Why DO people wear clogs? Does anybody anymore apart from Dutch retro nutters/tourist board employees? Do YOU have any clog stories? My favourite is that Phil used to go out with a girl who made him wear clogs because she liked New Model Army. I might have got that a bit wrong but I'm confident its a decent enough clog anecdote to be worthy of including in this review. I mean I'd get blisters if I wore those things. You can't run from the fuzz in clogs, I'm sure you can't ride a bike as well. Whilst escaping the fuzz. I wonder if this lovely neo-classical/chamber-folk quartet wear their namesakes? They've a lot of guest musicians on this smashing album, if they were all to wear clogs I bet it would take a few months of solid carving & polishing to "clog" them all. Just check the sound clips will yer, this sounds far too nice to suffer one of my ignorant splurges of literary sewage.
The classical quartet featuring Bryce Dessner and Padma Newsome of The National return with their most focused and beautiful work to date.
• Hot on the heels of The National’s incredibly well received ‘High Violet’, the most vocally focused Clogs album to date gets a UK release.
• The album includes guest vocal appearances from Sufjan Stevens, My Brightest Diamond and The National’s Matt Berninger.
• A highly complex and yet utterly accessible classical record, this will appeal to fans of all the contributors as well as established classical listeners.
