The Bluetones - A New Athens

‘A New Athens’ marks the first new Bluetones release since their critically acclaimed eponymous album in the autumn of 2006 and touring their platinum selling album ‘Expecting To Fly’ in 2008/09. ‘A New Athens’ is The Bluetones 6th studio album and was produced by Gordon Mills. It features guest appearances from Imogen Andrews, ex-Mohair keyboard whizzkid Alex Richards and, perhaps more surprising, television actor Matt Berry (The IT Crowd, Snuffbox, The Mighty Boosh) who provides backing vocals and enthusiastic handclaps on two of the records 11 tracks. A full UK tour is scheduled throughout April and May 2010, the band's biggest for some time, offering audiences the chance to come and experience The Bluetones at the height of their powers, blending the newer material with already established classic hits from their back catalogue.
