This is pretty sweet. It's got a massive chorus and a swaggering stomp. It's short and quite memorable. It also gets by with a little help from their famous guitarist Jack White on production duties plus a huge debt to Robert Plant. Not vocal wise though - there's no banshee wailing, fish inserting, rock demi-god business going on here no sir! I can just imagine him squirming about to it though! The flip-side (penned by White) is a way stranger animal. A spoken word number with a garage rock bully pinning the words to the ground. Not bad all in all....It also has the most death rock sleeve I've seen in about 12 mins....
This is the highly anticipated new single from The Dead Weather. Die By The Drop is the lead single off of the band's second album in under a year Sea of Cowards . Call and response vocals by Allison Mosshart (the Kills) and Jack White (your favorite) are enough to send warm shivers down your spine.
