Cauterised - Trifler's Revenge

Trifler's Revenge by Cauterised

4...according to our on Thu 13 May, 2010.

This 4 track CD comes in a wallpaper sleeve not unlike many kitchens from the 70's. The one I'm holding has a tasteful brown floral pattern which I'm wishing was lickable (ala Charlie & The Chocolate Factory) just cos I right fancy tasting some brown flowers. This is a weird distorted mix of hauntology and evil sound manipulation. As much as I'm trying to get my head around this I'm slightly waylaid by the cutethingsfallingasleep blog I've just discovered. I was gripped to see if Sleepy Kitten 33 would fall over. Anyway back to the CD. It's definitely got it's heart set in hauntology though it has a darker vibe to it and it's much more lo-fi than say the Ghost Box stuff. It's almost like listening to a slightly de-tuned radio from the past..... strangely enjoyable!

The Trifler is back and is continuing his journey into the realm of uneasy listening soundtrack music and hauntology.

Taking apart sound sources from forgotten and lost films of the exotic and underground, the Trifler sets about his job of creating a dark psychedelic journey into the realms of tape loops, static, hums and sculptured noise.

But what does it all mean? Where did the sounds come from? Only the Trifler knows and he has vowed to maintain his silence until he has wrecked his revenge on the world of soft furnishing, woodchip, pattern designs and fondue sets.
