Micah P Hinson - And The Pioneer Saboteurs

And The Pioneer Saboteurs by Micah P Hinson

Quick, dust off them spurs, pardoner, don your stetson and marry your sister, The new album from Micah P Henson is here. Its a sprawling opus of wonder and grandiosity, a bit like the Old West itself or a night out with Keith Chegwin,if you will. This record sounds really great. All the songs are spacious and very much rooted in the mysticism of the Wiild Wild West, ably tied together by the languid drawl of Mr. Henson. The song writing is of such a high standard , and I really couldn't stop myself having images of tired old gunslingers and epic cattle drives. The cover has a demure looking lass wielding a six shooter..Nice!!! I think this record is high standard and if you like chewing tobacco and getting close to your livestock (?) you'll love this....Ermm Yeeehaaa!!

•    The album was mixed in Argyle, Texas with Matt Pence of Texas outfit Centro-matic, then mastered in Nashville by guys who cut their teeth working on Dylan and Stax Records.

•    Some strings were recorded in a canyon in Colorado and some of the strings were recorded in small apartments in Zaragoza, Spain. The string arrangers are Eric Bachmann and “a fella from Spain I call Manitee”, and the players include members of Techanko, Devotcha, Crooked Fingers.

•    Micah P. Hinson’s currently completing a set of Spanish EPs and is also releasing a Spanish-language novel.
