Skitliv - Bloodletting

Bloodletting by Skitliv

4...according to our on Thu 06 May, 2010.

Where's David? Oh, there he is! He's shouting "WHO WILL DELIVER ME.. FROM MYSELF?" over and over again in a kind of collage style, introducing this single from ex-Mayhem lad and Black Metal leg-end Maniac. It's a slightly comical start (even to someone who loves some of Current 93's stuff) but things seriously pick up once the MASSIVE doomy riffs and throat-murdering vocals kick in. It's certainly extreme enough but it's definitely a fair bit slower than I was expecting, not really knowing what his solo stuff was like before now. I guess if you slowed it down (quite) a bit you'd almost be approaching Burning Witch territory, except with some mental effects and processing on top. Picture disc which features artwork from the Tibet-inator on one side.

Limited edition 10" Picture disc from SKITLIV, the project of former MAYHEM front man MANIAC.

With a line up that includes SHINING’s NIKLAS KVARFORTH, SKITLIV is a disturbed, and disturbing, blackened doom journey through the mind of this legendary Black Metal vocalist who was one of the original exponents of the genre, and is one of its most recognisable figures.

This picture disc is made extra special not only by the inclusion of “Who Will Deliver Us From Gold and Planets” by CURRENT 93 - an introductory collage destruct that was created at the request of Maniac and is dedicated to him, but also because the artwork that is used for the side containing this track is part of one of Tibet’s own paintings.

Ltd x 777 copies. No repress.

Track Listing:
