You totally know that when you listen to a new Melvins record certain ingredients will be encapsulated within its musical cooking pot. Thick riffage. Superhuman drumming. Weird shouty growling vocal hooks. Added ingredients...a dollop of humour,and maybe a soupcon of nightmarish imagery.Now you are all set for a veritable feast. This album is fused with an almost classic rock feel which sits well with me. The proceedings start off with a boot camp chant. Then It goes into what you would call Melvins territory and its a wonderful thing. The paring of Big Business and Melvins is now officially a match made in heaven, and the 'Business boys add some great texture and shade to the proceedings. Upon my one tawdry listen track 7 is my favourite. Its classic Melvins and then some. It could be one of their most accomplished albums in years and i felt lucky to hear it.
* The Bride Screamed Murder is the third release featuring Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover and Big Business Coady Willis
and Jared Warren.
* While the Melvins recently celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary, the latest incarnation debuted with the highly-
praised (A) Senile Animal (2006) and continued with Nude With Boots (2008).
* The Melvins did all the good things a band can do and are still relevant after more than 25 years. They keep it exciting
by ignoring any set of rules, by their exorbitant ability make the most beautiful noise ever heard - and by their humour,
which is an essential brand mark of the Melvins. This time around, they have changed their tune again and opted for a
tight mix of highly entertaining call and response jams and more progressive experimental songs (much like old school
Melvins). A definite hit for diehard Melvins heads.
