Some truly scary music from The Truth About Frank. A shadowy Leeds crew who I'd really like to check out live sometime, if they ever play? Ominous & frosty dark ambience & piercing digital scree grants passage to monging, trippy dark ambient techno which, in turn, conjures up really enjoyable cyber nightmares with its cleverly layered eerie samples and implicit industrial feel. 'A Colder View' is like an acid & Mogadon trip in a hospital resuscitation room in the company of a rabid digitized doberman. Then the psycho doctors morph into view like fried Star Trek characters before the slow industrial electro doom finale. This is interesting, dark music from a two mind man mental & I bloody loves it, but wouldn't take it home to see me mam.
Murder Sleep is the 4th EP from Leeds based experimental / electronic duo 'The Truth About Frank'. Following its acclaimed predecessors ‘A Briefcase Full Of Suspicion’ (“…abstractly awkward and awesome stuff…” www.losingtoday.com), ‘14 Versions Of The Same EP Version 11 (“…playful and broodingly sinister…Excellent…” Vibrations Magazine) and ‘Neon Fractured Night’(…very impressive stuff executed with economy and precision…” The Sound Projector) Murder Sleep has already been described as “…the best release I heard so far from them…definitely a road to explore…” by Frans De Waard at ‘Vital Weekly’. Murder Sleep comes ahead of a projected full-length release later in the year and an imminent appearance on Front & Follow Records’ ’14 Version’ box-set alongside 13 other artists including Sone Institute, Leyland Kirby and Spool Ensemble.
