Alright!!! Locust Peel Sessions!! Bring that shit on baby!!! I'm totally biased when i comes to the might of The Locust. Always on hand to entertain and possibly one of the greatest precision hardcore bands to break out of the confines of total obscurity. They pretty much represent an era of punk rock that is pretty much completely ignored in 2010, from Festival of Dead Deer, Swing Kids, Mens Recovery Project, Arab On Radar, The Crimson Curse angle, if you know what i'm saying. I guess they are the most popular of these acts due to there ridiculous tightness and mosh pit friendly (practically metal) approach to live shows. This Peel session ushers in the Gabe Serbian (drummer) period and was recorded in 2001. I don't remember hearing it first time 'round but it's totally kicking my ass right now. 16 songs in as many minutes plastered over 12" of wax and running at 45 rpm, this is some super fast, super obnoxious and super amusing spazz-core (am i allow to use this genre term anymore? Fuck it! who cares, it's going in). It reminds of a time when I was a lot less open minded about music and wanted all bands to sound pretty much just like this. Totally fucking awesome. keep an eye out for them on tour in the coming months. YO!
