I'm running out of things to say about psych rock nowadays, so much of it streams its way into the office each week that I feel like I'm in a permanent state of spaced-out bewilderment. Anyway, Moon Unit play psych/krautrock type stuff that concentrates on the purely mongy terrain of drone. I can hear pseudo-sitar, synth drone and loose Vibracatherdal Orchestra style drums. Opening track 'Internal Future' builds and builds for what seems like an eternity before a crescendo of wild rock guitar solos and frenzied drum attacks finally bring the track to its conclusion. 'No Money No Nothing' kicks things in a slightly more abstract manner. It features some kind drumming too. It would certainly be working a lot better for me if I was reviewing it from home, this is more of a relaxing on the sofa, chong in hand type job if you know what I'm saying.
Top flight three man cosmic research team further investigations on galactic flux and refraction with two transmissions of synesthetic mind-fold. Lift off with skyward string stasis cutting through buffeted drum-clouds and synthesiser atmosphere, cosmic forever vision peaks at warp-speed rocket drone, anti-gravity percussion accents and star scraping rainbow universes. Saturating feedback zones spread webs of dimension amidst asteroid belt orbits, where two-way trips initiate zero g shimmer into the outer limit of the space ritual via ancient totems to the three moon cycles and the internal black hole smoke sacrifice.
