Magnificent reinterpretations lovingly crafted by a host of talented ambient and microsound artists. Portuguese band Papercutz is about unique adventurous melodic pop music, with beautiful arrangements and enigmatic vocal performances. Pursuing a balance between acoustic and electronic sounds on instrumental and vocal tracks, this young band has resulted from leader Bruno Miguel's love of live instrumentation, organic electronics, dream like melodies, pop vocals and cinematic piano ambiences. ‘Do Outro Lado Do Espelho (Lylac Ambient Reworks)’ marks the end of a chapter for Papercutz and simultaneously opens a door for a new one. Miguel has grown fond of the ambient genre over the years (much because of a love for movie soundtracks) and this came to the fore when working on the original ‘Lylac’ album’s textural ambiences. “Do Outro Lado Do Espelho” means “from the other side of the looking glass”, and this collection highlights what the remixing artists saw in the music besides the actual pop song, with an emphasis on dreamy, ethereal, and cinematic aspects, re-visioning each song from their own particular artistic viewpoint. Includes versions by Helios, Emanuele Errante, Simon Scott, Taylor Deupree, He Can Jog, Rameses III, Autistici, Chris Bissonnette, The Astroboy, Jasper TX, and Feu Follet.
