Phosphorescent - Here's To Taking It Easy

Here's To Taking It Easy by Phosphorescent

Phosphorescent is one of those names that i've never really picked up on in the past. Sure i've seen the records about and i heard the Willie Nelson tribute album 'To Willie' is pretty good but other than that i'm clueless. With 'Here's to taking it easy' (something we know very little about here at El Normo Towers) the group probe similar terrain to the Mr. Nelson whilst also pilfering from california's counter-culture back catalogue. This is totally soothing country rock/americana type stuff. Real mellow i tell thee. It's littered with beautiful counter harmony, lush piano's and laid back guitar solo's all of which contribute to the decidely throwback sound. Though i'm dwelling on the Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young angle i should mention that this is a tastefully produced LP full of chilled out jams. Very nice.

•    Phosphorescent’s last two records, ‘Pride’ and ‘To Willie’ (a Willie Nelson tribute record), were extremely well received and garnered glowing reviews across the board.
•    This is the moment that Phosphorescent turns from cult favourite into mainstream success.
•    Touring throughout May and well into the rest of the year.
•    Just finished up a tour of US and Europe with David Gray. •    Contemporaries of Dirty Projectors et al, yet with a huge
mass audience appeal.
