Marvin are a progressive electro rock outfit from Montpellier, France. 'Hangover The Top' is their second LP which sees the group out grow their early Trans Am aping efforts to become a more unique proposition. Dynamically the group are all over the shop, crazy authentic Moog synths effortlessly cruise their way through a bizarre obstacle course of wildly dynamic riffs and dangerously out of control rock rhythms. Primarily an instrumental group, they occasionally add a vocal to great effect especially when they employ the vocoder. Entertaining enough just for the sheer display of skill displayed by the individual members. Authentic Moog synths are always a pleasure to hear but there's also some great guitar playing and it's all backed ablely by a sweet drummer. Any record that references Stallone's 'Over The Top' and features a cover of Brian Eno's 'Here Come The Warm Jets' gets my backing. Ace.
