PABH are local Leeds lads and this EP was recorded at The Packhorse, Leeds hence the name 'Live in Leeds'. What can I say about these boys? Ambitious, driving (post-grunge) rock played with reckless abandon and limited technical ability seems fair to me. This is no means a bad thing as they more than make up for it with wild enthusiasm and 'don't give a fuck' attitude. This EP documents pretty much every song they've written so far (including the one about punching a lion in the throat), recorded in a ramshackle style that reflects their punky punk attitude. Not quite as good as Hard To Swallow's live album of the same name, PABH at least prove themselves to be a competent and excitable live band worth documenting even if their riffage is a bit pedestrian for my liking. Limited quantities available. Oh, also worth noting is the ridiculous mid song banter....pretty fucking hilarious! From launching themselves off PAs at Brixton in support of Biffy Clyro and Glassjaw to destroying Europe with Blood Red Shoes and literally bleeding from their knees at Reading/Leeds, PABH, as the shorthand reads, are an awesome experience for fans of Mudhoney, Queens of the Stone Age, Refused and Butthole Surfers, bringing together a cavalier approach to songwriting with lyrics covering gypsy ghost trains to Zelda-quoting explosions of colour.
This live 12" was recorded at the Leeds Packhorse last month - and is uber-limited to 500 copies only.
