I'm unfamiliar with this chapster. Was absent when he last came round these parts shaking his wares, brandishing his folksy instruments & his slightly forlorn trad. style witty lyricism. This new fucker makes it sound like he's made a bit of cash & a name for himself but he doesn't sound over-glossy. There's a rousing, earthy feel to the songs that elevates him way above & beyond many of the nu-folk pretenders & posh busker boys (Mumford & Sons). I'm being sucked under by the soulful arrangements and the warmth & playfulness of the tracks. I'll not sneer before I hear again, this sounds like a fresh, well-heeled treat for any contemporary folk-pop lovers that want to hear a new savior rather than a hollow bandwagon jumping chest beater......
