I've made no secret of the fact that i dig Lovvers so it will come as no surprise to hear that i like this new single 'Strangers'. Recorded at the same time as "OCD GO GO GO GIRLS" but omitted from the album in favour of a later single release, it's obvious to see why as this works great as a stand alone track. Packing ace, infectious riffage throughout, 'Strangers' is a total winner. It's backed by the Wipers 'Tragedy' a current live favorite and excellent choice of cover for the group. Did i mention that the recordings of these are unbelievably good? Well, i have now.
TRACKLISTING:
A: Strangers
B: Tragedy
OVERVIEW:
Having just taken the US by storm again, including an impressive 14 shows in 5 days at SxSW, Lovvers return with a brand new single.
"Strangers" is a rumbling and rolling slice of garage punk featuring one of their catchiest riffs to date. A highlight of their live set, it was recorded in Portland with Pat Kearns when they made their album "OCD GO GO GO GIRLS" (WEBB218CD/WEBB218LP) but the band decided not to put it on the album and to keep it for a future single release.
The b-side was recorded in the UK and has been another live favourite for some time - their cover of the classic Wipers' tune "Tragedy".
Limited edition seven-inch vinyl.
