Not really listened to these fellas much in a while. I thought the first album showed loads of promise, the potential for electronic and guitar music to be combined in a way which wasn't completely embarrassing for all sides for a change, but all the bits I've heard since seemed to be on a similar sort of level. Kinda churlish to criticise a band for starting off pretty good and staying there though, so I won't. This one ploughs their usual furrow and does a highly satisfactory job of it, riffy post-rock moves being batted around by electronica beats and textures and all that. It sorta sounds a bit like 'Better Living Through Chemistry' by QOTSA once or twice in its duration, which can't really be a bad thing.

First single from the new-sounding 65daysofstatic album ‘We Were Exploding Anyway’.

65daysofstatic played a world tour with The Cure last year, and a track on their latest album, ‘We Were Exploding Anyway’, features Robert Smith of The Cure on vocals.
