We got a bunch of CD's in this week on the Reverb worship label. The one that stood out for me was the Yoshino CD as it's quite strikingly packaged in a pink paper lace sleeve which looks a bit like some ladies tights. I like it... I like ladies tights as well but lets not go there. Yoshino makes quirky psych folk rock in a nutshell. On this album a few of the tracks rock out but I prefer the more blissed out psyche folk moments which reminds me a bit of the Aritomo gear at times (albeit more blissed out and not as whimsical). If you like your psyche Jap gear then you'll want to check this out as it's not without its charms at all. In fact the 'Oasis of Night' track is totally doing it for me. Nice!Yoshino should be a fairly familiar name to you via his Tranko and Mizuumi releases on Reverb Worship. This time let me introduce you to "Sun, Moon" which is his debut solo album.Yoshino is in a more "rock" mode here similar to the electric Voice Of The Seven Woods style. He is joined on these recordings by percussionists Yoshinari Kishida from the Tokumaru Shugo Band & Andersens and Wataru Mitunuga from Chimuni. The cd is available now in a limited edition of 45 hand numbered copies with a pink hand made lace paper cover.
