Hanoi Janes - Year Of Panic

Hanoi Janes is mainly the work of one guy, Oliver Scharf, living near Dresden, Germany. He spent the last six months constantly recording his vision of a Spector/Wilson sound, limited to on an 8-track recorder, one mic, and a stack of slightly degenerated pop nuggets in mind. In doing so he likes to keep songs really short and rather grab another beer. Itʼs a one-man project trying to sound like a one man parade, combining heavy-hearted simplicity with sunny and naive bubblegum pop imagine what might happen if Southern California was located at the Caspian Sea. 'I'm getting majorly sore cheeks from grinning and toe tapping to these freewheelin' bung pop gems from Sachsen,Germany, while being simultaneously amazed at  how they explode in rich technicolor with such a full sound - fried guitar licks,cheery vocal squeaks and twinkling xylophone runs -but are largely the work of one guy named Oliver Scharf.
