...Or let us be thankful we have Chaos Pads. These guys know how to create mood and tension within music. This stuff is sure to give me nightmares. Really brooding and ominous. There is a lot of space on this record, its not totally saturated and that makes it even more scary. Bearded noise twats will lap this up. Its actually quite an interesting sounding record though. I have no idea what recording techniques were used in making this record but the ideas and execution are to be commended...and the simple fact that its not just a guy smacking a mouse against a snare drum sits well with me...

My Dance The Skull is pleased to present its step into the music world with the strictly limited cassette-only release of 'Let Us Be Thankful We Have Commerce' by electro-acoustic musician Talvihorros.

Ben Chatwin (aka Talvihorros) creates music that suggests an intricate succession of events set in motion by esoteric, untraceable forces. That's my take on it, anyway.  Chatwin currently lives in London and has played in different bands and projects over the years, but finds himself at his "most productive working alone", something you're likely to be able to tell from listening to his music.

Talvihorros does venture a bit into post-rock turf (sometimes sounding like the most serene moments from Godspeed You Black Emperor or Rock Action-era Mogwai crossed with the soundtrack of a Takeshi Kitano movie), but seems to be more drawn to creating a suspended, unreal mood than reaching peaks of ear-splitting volume, something that makes him more akin to ambient musicians than space-rockers
