Scenes Of A Sexual Nature by Arab Strap

4...according to our on Thu 15 Apr, 2010.

Phwoar, we can't really open any of these but they look fucking AMAZING. They're weighty as hell, featuring a mix of CDs, vinyls and tapes all based around the material from their early stint on Chemikal Underground, the label they'll always be associated with in my mind. So you get an LP of The Week Never Starts Around Here (featuring the likes of 'The First Big Weekend') a double LP of Philophobia (featuring the likes of 'Packs of Three'), a double LP of Peel sessions and bonus tracks, a CD EP compilation, a cassette of their first demo etc. etc. etc. It's basically a big fat chunk of fan service. As much as I loved them back then I'd sorta dig a nice double LP compilation since they were never the most consistent from album to album.. Could someone sort that out for me please? Cheerz!

•    In advance of Arab Strap’s first two influential albums ‘The Week Never Starts Round Here’ (1996) and ‘Philophobia’ (1998) forthcoming reissues on CD comes ‘Scenes Of A Sexual Nature’: a multi-format, deluxe box set which encapsulates the band’s first two albums plus their first two Peel Sessions, live gigs, EPs, demos, unreleased tracks, exclusive liner notes from Aidan Moffat and Malcolm Middleton, a poster and a numbered and signed certificate.

•    Limited to 200 copies for the UK, the box-set is a comprehensive labour of love – the definitive archive of Arab Strap’s groundbreaking early output and a must- have for fans of both the band and Glasgow’s independent music scene from the late 1990s – a scene which had Arab Strap as one of its most prominent standard bearers.

•    The box set features ‘The Week Never Starts Round Here’ LP, ‘Philophobia’ 2LP, Peel Sessions 2LP with nine bonus tracks, BBC live CD, EP compilation CD, a remake of the original five track demo on cassette (as sent to Chemikal, and now featuring five additional bonus tracks), a double sided poster featuring press clippings / artwork, a data disc featuring MP3s of all vinyl tracks, exclusive sleeve notes written by Aidan and Malcolm, and a signed and numbered certificate.
