Am totally spaced out after an intense day here. As is this Climate of Hunter CD which is well floating in space! It's packaged in a nice foldy out colour printed job which is then tied together by some sort of fancy button device. Then the whole sherbang is shoved inside some tracing paper to finish it of. Nice!! Climate of Hunter are Chris Sciacca and Rey Diego and they've made this lush sounding CD over a year long period in the 'relative seclusion of the Santa Cruz mountains'. What you have here is one 41 (ish) minute long track which is essentially some very space sounding ambience. Lots of nasa style talkovers and bleeps over warm layers of floaty make this an enjoyable foray into the world of ambience. There's plenty going on as well which is always is good to hear as things can get a bit dull when you're confronted with a bunch of ambient records! It's like an old school ambient record! Well worth checking out..... visually and aurally. 100 copies only!!Track Listing
01 Approaching Lights (41:48)
"Approaching Lights" is Climate of Hunters first full length album. Recorded over the span of a year in the relative seclusion of Northern California's Santa Cruz Mountains, the album was self released in December of 2009. It is the collaborative effort between Rey Diego and Chris Sciacca. A limited edition print of 100 has been made with each CD individually designed and packaged by hand on Inkpress Cool Tone Rag 300 GSM, producing crisp archival images.
Clocking in over a continuous 41 minutes, “Approaching Lights” is a panorama of ambient sound set to the imagery of the NOAA Photo Library and interspersed with radio static black box transmissions. It is a paean to 40,000 feet of solitude, grandeur and mystery.
