Lawrence Arabia is the pseudonym of James Milne, a New Zealand born singer songwriter and former member of The Ruby Suns. He is also responsible for the excellent 'Eagle vs. Shark' soundtrack. 'Apple Pie Bed' is a sugary sweet pop song in the vein of Silver Apples or Field Music. It's a lushly orchestrated number featuring some beautiful falsetto vocal harmonies. B-side 'Toy Orchestra' is a playful instrumental cut with spooky undertones and sweet keyboard licks that ooze atmosphere from every groove.TRACKLISTING:

OVERVIEW:
LAWRENCE ARABIA is the pseudonym of James Milne, born 1981 in Christchurch, New Zealand. James has already established a rich musical resume as a former member of the Brunettes, The Ruby Suns & one time touring member of Okkervil River. He has also produced for films & theatre & wrote the score for the indie film hit, “Eagle vs Shark”.
James has spent much of the past 12 months gallivanting around Europe on tour with Feist (his biggest fan) & other luminaries, whilst winning glowing write ups in NME, the Sunday Times, Dazed & Confused & other bastions of the British music press.
“Apple Pie Bed” is a wonderful example of classic song-writing combining sugar hits of harmony, sweet melody & lush orchestration that will set you reeling.
PRESS: Great album reviews in the Guardian, Uncut, Mojo, Musicohm, BBC Website
“Songs like "Apple Pie Bed" will continue to creep like sun through cloud til the summer finally, finally arrives. That is, songs made by men with beards & surfer haircuts that sound perfect for strolling tree-lined avenues with pretty girls in sunglasses, the breeze slyly wafting pheromones her way from the sweat spreading about your ‘pit.” – Artrocker
“An FM hit-in-waiting that is genuinely hard to pin down, rolling up the Beach Boys & Beatles, a bit of Fleetwood Mac, & even a little Afro-pop & more in three-&-a-half lovely minutes.” – The Guardian
