Remember the 80s? Alison Goldfrapp does. She was probably in her twenties then, still dreaming of pop stardom whilst partner in crime Will Gregory was rent-a-saxophonist for the likes of Tears for Fears. Goldfrapp aren't recreating the early 80s cool tinny synth pop of the likes of early Human League or Depeche Mode but have jumped headlong into the Americanised mid 80's bluster of the likes of Pat Benatar. 'Rocket' contained plenty of stadium synth work along the lines of Van Halen's 'Jump' matched with lyrics so inane they barely count as anything more intelligent than grunts. Also she's wearing a pink jump suit on the sleeve. This comes on retro CD single only (samey mixes by Tiesto, Richard X and Grum), strangely there must be no demand for the Cassi-single.CD Single

Goldfrapp release their brand new single 'Rocket' through Mute on 8th March 2010.
Fizzy with inspiration, 'Rocket' is a goose-bump brilliant tune, taken from the duo’s fifth album 'Head First', released on 22nd March.
Written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, 'Rocket' comes complete with fantastic new mixes by Tiësto, Richard X, Penguin Prison and Grum, and is accompanied by a typically fabulous video directed by Kim Gehrig (Calvin Harris, Primal Scream, Santogold).
