Caballo Tripode - Horror Vacui

Horror Vacui by Caballo Tripode

Finally here, the long-awaited, long-in-production, seemingly cursed production from Valencia, Spain's Caballo Tripode. The project is basically the brain alien baby that formed during a Le Jonathan Reilly (members present) hiatus and yielded us these songs. A "garage & surf" record at it's core, but frankly CT is into a deeper bag of tricks here. The circumstance alone of a heavily Spanish vibe lends a distinctly "cultural" top-coat, and then the songs seem designed punch holes right into it! Nice contrast from dipping into a futuristic chaos similar to Meercaz's. Getting a spacey wildness laid out over great, simple, "classic" rock. So you have solid songwriting skills with well-placed injections of noise, time problems, etc. and an overall wash of loose psychedelic tendencies to move along with this off-kilter futurism. And all this crazy shit while still putting it's foot down, keeping enough weight on the nice romantic sensibility it has to it so that it doesn't fly off completely into outer fucking space. Mastered by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service for audiophile grade...audio.
