White Sun by Chihei Hatakeyama

5...according to our on Thu 18 Feb, 2010.

Now this artist has been very busy over the past year with releases on Hibernate, Home Normal and Under The Spire. During that time he's recorded a teeny weenie CD for Taalem. (We have like 8 CD's on the label this week from Celer, Aidan Baker, Yui Onodera, Netherworld etc.) This disc comprises a single piece of his magical soundscape work where he processes acoustic elements and reduces them to more minimal abstract forms. This Japanese artist has a lovely sound and I reckon this one is a fine addition to the collection.

japanese sound-artist chihei hatakeyama released his first solo cd in 2006 thanks to kranky. he has since released various other records on spekk or room40. his music could be described as structured soundscapes based on processed acoustic sounds, mainly acoustic guitar on this 3".
