Ghislain Poirier - Las Americas EP

Las Americas EP by Ghislain Poirier

A record that unites Buenos Aires and Montreal as hermanos in music. One continent, one producer, all on one label with four smoking remixes. South America’s most futuristic record label ZZK is expanding its sound, vision and synchronicity with like-minded producers around the world, 2010 version. You’ve heard people talking about World Music 2.0, Nu Whirled Music, Global Gettotech and other modern terms used to describe where urban bass music is headed simultaneously around the globe… now this is your chance to experience it in all its cross-cultural glory. First up in the mix is Uproot Andy, a Brooklyn producer without regards for geographical limitations, who is quickly establishing himself as a big remixer with a seriously fresh sound. Next comes El Remolon, one of ZZK’s most dancefloor-focussed hard hitters. His remix gives that cumbia villera (“from the slums”) production touch that he has made his studio trademark. Lagartijeando is ZZK’s newest producer on the label., combining the most obscure South American folklorico with ultra-heavy bass. The fourth and final refit comes courtesy of Douster, who inhabits the same smoked-out sound coffee houses as Debruit, poised to become the name on many a hip cat’s lip thanks to his remix of Rusko’s ‘Woo Boost’ on Mad Decent.
