Nom De Guerre are a group i know very little about which is odd because these guys are screaming to be heard. From the of it's apparent that these guys write ambitious, excitable pop music for folk who enjoy a good time. According to the press release, 'Love Thy Neighbour' is a concept LP based around on the classic whodunit murder mystery theme which is hard to catch on to at first would no doubt reveal itself with further listens. Musically this record touches on all manner of 70s pop influences to get their point across. I can hear ELO, Queen, 10 CC, Supertramp and Elton John as well as more contemporary artists that have ploughed similar terrain such as Mika, The Scissor Sisters (without the high camp) and, to an extent, rock groups like Field Music. So yeah, the music is brash, lively and inviting...perfect for dancing and confident enough to hold a quality tune together. In addition to the LP/CD you also get a sweet looking art book (exclusive to us, and the package also comes with a free download of the album) with lyrics and ideas printed in conjunction with various paintings and collages. A strange yet interesting beast that merits further investigation. We calculate your shipping costs by taking the heaviest item in your order and calculating that at the 'Heaviest Item' price.
