My call last year for 'music to go to sleep to' was answered with last years Pop Ambient compilation which belatedly introduced me to the world of Kompakt. A consistently great German label co-owned by the guy who did that amazing Gas stuff. But you probably know all that anyway. This album is the latest installment in the Kompakt catalogue and on first listen is superb. It's kind of a mixture of the evocative haunting electronic/acoustic soundscapes of Gas or Fennesz but with other more earthy, organic compositions which bring to mind Harold Budd or Brian Eno. Very evocative and relaxing stuff.
