The Music Of Belief by Dolphins Into The Future

'The Music of Belief' is the second offering from Belgian artist Lieven Martens, following on from 'On Sea-Faring Isolation' LP that came out on Not Not Fun last year. Offering up meditative jams and relaxed themes seems to be the method of choice for Martens but you also get the impression that he is well serious about meditation, inner awakening, the development of self and all that business. Both pieces here are inspired by literature concerning such subject matters with opener 'The Voice Of Incorporeality' siting "The Voice Of The Silence" by H.P. Blavatsky and 'Observations through the Halocline Of the Worlds' referencing the seven stanzas of Dzyan. I won't make any claims of deep understanding when it comes to this source material but the theory gives weight and substance to a record that is essentially the best new-age hippy music you are ever likely to hear outside of a rainbow crystal ball shop. Beautifully crafted and incredibly peaceful in its delivery, if you enjoyed 'Sea-faring Isolation' then you'll love this second installment.

Second album from Belgian artist Lieven Martens, following up 2009's On Sea-Faring Isolation (Not Not Fun). The Voice Of Incorporeality: one long piece based on the radiating work "The Voice Of The Silence" by H.P. Blavatsky. Observations Through The Halocline Of The Worlds: 10 shorter pieces, a companion to the 7 stanzas of Dzyan. Music made to awake the listener's inner-seeing or God-vision. 60 minutes. 500 copies.
