Quadrospazzed 09 by Thee Oh Sees

Thee Oh Sees are normally in Business Lady's pile but she had enough alternative rock in her hidey hole this week to host a fucking rival to ATP . So i've got this raucous 1 sided 12" called 'Quadrospazzed '09'. There's a very beautiful etching on one side & it's on on thick black wax but the main reason to buy this is the fact it's a complete voodoo kraut-psych motherfucking epic jam that commands your immediate attention. Its hypnotic space-rock qualities are well juxtaposed with its simultaneously druggy, creepy, claustrophobic elements - there's this vortex coming to swallow you up all the way through & when it starts to suck you in near the end, the drums get more tribal, the chanted Devo-style disembodied robot vocal coda starts jabbing you in the face & the acid-fried wirey guitar just keeps exploding, letting off blistering shards.....then it all gradually folds in on itself & disappears into the space it appeared from. A wild ride, surely one of the best things they've done.

San Francisco’s THEE OH SEES return with a limited edition, one-sided 12-inch featuring the song “Quadrospazzed” recorded live by CHRIS WOODHOUSE. Includes a B-side etching by WILLIAM KHEIN. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl and limited to a one-time pressing of 1,000 copies.
