...according to our Brian on Thu 11 Feb, 2010.
After winding the gaffer up this morning he opted to take a considered type of revenge out on me by giving me all the big fat mature epic rock bollocks that had come in this week. The Unwinding Hours sound like Coldplay doing muscly post rock, or Mogwai crossed with Maps maybe. This means that the production is pretty powerful & widescreen but you can't see the band when they play live for loads of girls waving their arms around to the blissed epic codas & sweeping melodic melancholia (IE Hollyoaks background music). The nucleus of the band stem from popular Scots rockists Aereogramme but i'm none the wiser to whether they were any cop or not listening to this super mature & "epic" take on the what i'd term the "Snow Patrol sound" Quality "MUMROCKtm"· ‘The Unwinding Hours’ is the first new music from
former Aereogramme members Craig B and Iain Cook
since the band split in 2007.
· For many avid fans, the album represents a reincarnation
of Aereogramme, and the anticipation for this album
is considerable.
· Rocksound, high-profile supporters of Aereogramme, are
already huge fans of the album and have pledged
considerable support.
· There will be live UK dates in support of the album,
starting with a slot at Chemikal Underground’s 15th
Anniversary show for this year’s Celtic Connections.
· Available on CD, limited edition vinyl (500 copies)
and digital download.
