One of the most significant bands to rise out of the Krautrock scene of the 1970s, the Munich-based musical collective Embryo has been led through the decades by multi-instrumentalist and visionary Christian Burchard, during which time he has used the Embryo moniker to collaborate with literally hundreds of musicians. Although the group’s sound has since become synonymous with World Music, for their brilliant 1970 debut, “Opal”, the band was still fully immersed in the jazzy acid psych sound that still continues to earn them many devoted fans.
