Also spawning an entirely new indie genre, 8-bit albums are bubbling to the surface. At the top of that game are Super 8 Bit Brothers masterminds Rob Kleiner and Kevin Gibson. Sporting impeccable musical pedigrees, Kleiner (Tub Ring/ex-Mindless Self Indulgence) and Kevin Gibson (Tub Ring), present their suburb-inspired and chip-driven full-length debut entitled Brawl, available nationally for the first time. Combining PDA and radio-friendly yet danceable indie pop and featuring lyrics ripe with arcade lingo for people who'd rather stay in or do a basement boogie, Brawl is the post-Postal Service, pre-Tron (Legacy) soundtrack of the indie generation.
The duo are true studio wiz kids as well; Kleiner owns Chicago’s Edison Studios, has worked on the Mr. Bungle project as well as nurturing his talents of film/tv scoring including music for: The Eternal (2010), Stuck! (2010), Open Invitation (2009), Ending the Eternal (2008), Watch Out (2008), and Working Class Rock Star (2008). His original music is also featured in video games like AMP Snowboarder (Y2K), and television shows like Fox Sports. Kevin Gibson is a talented singer and can often be be heard singing in many jingles on television.
Performing live as a duo since 2004 at video game conventions and rock clubs with such artists such as Mindless Self Indulgence, Electric Six, Foxy Shazam, and a multitude of other internationally recognized bands, The Super 8 Bit Brother are now ready to step out of the labs and basements of the world and fill that sonic space on your hard drive. Already featured on Fox TV’s Fearless Music, the group is taking their rightful place on the national music stage … ladies and gentleman … the Super 8 Bit Brothers!
