Another split release on Turgid Animal... This album twins Murder Book & Culver. Murder Book is George Procter on electronics/ tape and saxophone. This side long epic “Trials Of Hex” begins with some totally bleak drones and heavy atmospherics, with an enormous sense of impending doom, then some disembodied vocals enter the mix and you get a sense of some fucked-up unholy black magic ritual shit occurring. Totally spooked-out, evil black ambient vibes. Lee Stokoe's Culver project takes care of things on the flipside with immersed organ drones on the first cut and then some excellent dark folk guitar that makes me think of a medieval medicine man type character playing to an audience struck by the plague. A very haunting track, as is the entire record and well worth checking out.Brand new split LP from Gateshead drone legend Culver and Turgid Animal's very own Mutant Ape side project Murder Book. Two longs sides of blackened heavy music. There is nothing pretty about this record other than the sexy girl on the front... you'll see. Limited to 250 copies on black vinyl.
