OHHHH yeaHAhahah this 'Minus The Divine' CD on Turgid Animal by Norway's Utarm sounds ultra-wicked. There are some amazing things happening these days in experimental underground black-metal. Sadly I don't get to hear anywhere near enough of the stuff. This really is doing it for me, it has a very nice raw and primitive sound but it's packed with emotion and energy, primal screams, hopeless abandon, oblivion, frustration, hatred, love, doom, anger... Just check it out as it's totally excellent and has me wanting to gaffer tape some spikes onto my winter coat. The title track is a fucking air-puncher and a half... Recommended for those that like it dark and exciting. Pure evil genius and the best thing I have heard all week hands down! Oh man this just keeps getting better! Intense, brilliant and gonna be in my CD player this weekend... Which reminds me I gotta get hold of those Wold CD's my mate Jim played me...

Utarm is Norway's Sindre Foss Skancke and "Minus The Divine" is the incredible new album released as follow up to 2007's "Mutilation Epoch". Experimental Black Metal and Noise rolled into one well composed and certainly exciting if not bizarre sounding album. All the best bits of Skullflower, early industrial and influences drawn from his countries native Black Metal underworld fighting for space amongst a backdrop of blackened Harsh Noise filth. Limited to 300 copies.
