El Gran Fellove - Mango Mangue

Mango Mangue by El Gran Fellove

4...according to our on Thu 28 Jan, 2010.

And now for something completely different... El Gran Fellove with 'Mango Mangue'. I actually have 2 mango's in the fruit bowl at home that I'm looking forward to eating. The problem I have with the mango is the same as the avocado. I love them both so, but you need to plan eating them weeks ahead as they take so long to ripen. This 2LP on Vampi Soul compiles recordings by the late 50's/ 60's cuban singer and showman. I'm particularly enjoying the percussion and tropical rhythms on here. Some of them are particularly fast and complex sounding. What a dude! It's making me wish the weather was hot and I was chilling in the garden with a Mojito and doing mamba dancing with the kids.

Compilation of the late 50s and early 60s recordings by this unique singer and showman from Cuba, a contemporary of Pérez Prado, Cachao and Mongo Santamaría. Includes his famous song "El Jamaiquino", pure ska/mambo crossover. Compilation and notes by Luc Delannoy.
