I guess Sachiko should by rights be considered a bit of a legend for her time spent as bassist/synth player/demented vocalist for Kousokuya in their later years (any fans of Fushitsusha and the like should get on to checking them out on Youtube pronto) but personally I wasn't even aware she was doing solo stuff until that CD came in here a few weeks back. Now there's a chunk of vinyl on the scene, entitled Golden Hypnos, and it's a right mongaloid platter from the off with its undulating vocal drones pretty much making me feel like I've been spinning around on this swivel chair for ten solid minutes. I think I can hear things getting bowed which probably weren't designed for that purpose. Very irresponsible. That metal frame used to belong to a perfectly good Black & Decker Workmate. I'm kind of thinking of those serene Buddhist temples Kawabata Makoto often evokes on his blissful solo releases and imagining that Sachiko probably lives in the evil temple next door sacrificing white goods and stuff. There's a sitcom in that I reckon. Creepy shit which is rather good.Stellar vocals and drones by Sachiko of Overhang Party; three pieces of hypnotic, gliding delight. This is Sachiko's first —all-drone— vinyl release, in an edition of 350. Heavy-weight vinyl & paste-on sleeve with artwork created by Johan De Wilde. AudioMER. edition in collaboration with Croxhapox gallery.
