Got a 7" single here from ex-Mum girl Kria Brekken. 'Uterus Water' is out on Paw Tracks and it totally gives off that hanging out in the womb, liquidy sorta vibe. It sounds very strange and other worldly and has a lovely feminine pretty beauty to it. At moments we're reminded of Grouper and Inca Ore. The flipside gives off a sort of charming Kate Bush pixie girl eccentricity thing, with piano tinkling's. The second track on the flip is the weirdest of all... Short but sweet and if you close your eyes you could well be swimming in amniotic fluid.* Kria Brekkan is the alter ego of Icelandic musician Kristin Anna Valtysdottir.
* Kristín was one of the original members of the Icelandic band Mum..
* PRESS:
- NEU MAGAZINE: "Kria Brekkan makes perfect winter music. Better known as Kristin Anna Valtysdottir - and for being part of Múm - her music is icy and heartwarming in equal measure. It's good news then, that Paw Tracks are releasing a new limited 7" in January 2010."
- TOO COOL TO DIE: "We love the mystery of Kria Brekkan’s art. She is a lo-fi Kate Bush and listening to her albums is like entering into the dark world of a horror movie soundtrack running inside a child’s head"
* TRACKLIST: 1. Uterus Water 2. Place of You 3. Ribbon Bow
