There's a white vinyl record emanating gently phased drones & extremely calming frequencies at me from the shabby phonograph we call the Normo Wheel O'Steel (tm) to the right of me. It's definitely ambient music of a fashion, sharing rather a lot in common with the likes of Eleh & old hands such as Elaine Radigue. These tonal waves wash over you, merged seamlessly in such a succinct style, I feel like I'm undergoing some kind of deep relaxation therapy, 'Repeat' is almost like analogue chamber electronics and I'm most taken with the gentle, minimalist atmospherics of it all. At 45RPM, i'd love to splice it with some fluttery minimal beats to create some mutant delicate techno hybrid but on it's own 'Repeat' plenty of absorbing substance to be consumed. The artist Matt Rosner blended all this with his clever finger-pops & pulsating grey matter. The other side of the record may be another kettle of fish entirely but Grandfather time is nipping impatiently at my weary ankles.....Hand No'd of 300 on Miatera.

Repeat offers 6 new works by Rösner that demonstrate the composer’s musical maturing since his debut release on 12x50 and a couple of releases of environmental and electronic sound in Australia and the US.
He engages on Repeat with the sound of voice, recorded instruments and performers. Reminiscent of Morton Feldman, these works unfold their beauty over time. With additional material by Adam Trainer, Greg Taw and Alexander Wendt, this vinyl release explores patterns and structures – observations of Rösner’s environment at the oceanic West coast of Australia. Calculations based on the Fibonacci series laid out timing and structure of Lattices, the track that spans over the entire B-Side. It explores tones and frequencies over 20 minutes. Limited edition of 500

This excellent release provides time and place for contemplation as a good piece of art should do. Furthermore Repeat comes also in a deluxe collector’s white vinyl edition, with additional artwork.
