French For Cartridge - Oooh!/Picture Negative

Oooh!/Picture Negative by French For Cartridge

4...according to our on Thu 10 Dec, 2009.

French For Cartridge have a got a pretty stoopid name but that's ok, there are plenty of daft band names about and most of them haven't written a single as strange and charming as 'Oooh'. This London based, boy/girl fronted indie pop write in a curious atonal sound incorporating some cool dynamic changes and some cheeky musical moments. The office staff and harking on about Bjork and Kate Bush which is no surprise as 'Oooh' is kinda dramatic and spooky. B-side 'Picture Negative' has a riff that's sounds well similar to 'Get Myself Arrested' by Gomez…that's not meant as a diss though, it's much better than that. Beatles-esque melodies, ace percussion and subtle hints of electronics give this tune the boost it requires and makes for a perfect compliment to the A-side. Comes with a free download too....CHRISTMAS!
